'Health Week' Or Bust. Senate Majority Leader Frist was
adamant about scheduling this month's "health week," despite not
having the votes in hand to push three GOP healthcare measures
through the chamber. And after five days of heated exchanges and
behind-the-scenes negotiations, Frist still didn't have the
votes to pass the bills.

GOP, Dems Sharpen Talking Points For Healthcare Debate
Senate Republicans and Democrats will square off next week over their different approaches to improving the country's healthcare system. On Monday, Majority Leader Frist is slated to hold a news conference with physicians to emphasize the need for legislation addressing the rising cost of medical malpractice insurance.
